The cathedral is surrounded by another flowery park where, on weekends and during the main state and religious anniversaries, a colorful local craft market is set up. From the park you continue along the Stefan cel Mare street and passing in front of the oldest library in Moldova you arrive at the square with the fountains which houses the Opera and Ballet Theatre, from the square you can admire the Presidential Palace in full view. Immediately in front of the Presidential Palace is a large building in the shape of an open book, the Parliament Building of the Republic of Moldova. To the side is the park dedicated to the Prince and Saint of Moldova, Stephen the Great (Stefan cel Mare) where the monument dedicated to him stands. Inside this park there is the most beautiful fountain in the city and the famous "Avenue of the Classics of Moldavian and Romanian Literature" where the busts of the main Moldovan-Romanian and Russian classical poets and writers are beautifully displayed. After passing the park, you cross a stretch of the elegant Strada 31 Agosto until you reach the Orthodox Basilica of Santa Teodora, also the work of the Italian architect Alessandro Bernardazzi.
